Steven Santangelo, MSW, LSW, LCADC
Owner, Addiction Therapist
My name is Steven Santangelo and I am the Owner and CEO of Panacea Counseling Services. Helping people has always been a passion of mine and drug and alcohol issues have woven their way throughout many aspects of my life. It was these experiences that guided my path towards addiction treatment, and along the way I gained skills in treating a variety of mental health disorders as well, primarily depression and anxiety. I have seen the fallout of addiction firsthand, and I have seen the miracle of recovery as well. I have made it my life’s work to help as many people as I can find their way back to happiness and self-love.

I believe that every person is the real expert of their lives. Sometimes, however, things get in the way of that personal expertise. Drugs and alcohol are a major example of this type of barrier, causing poor decision-making and affecting the moral compass. Despite this, each person knows themselves better than anyone else does. It is not my job to tell you how to live, but rather to help you figure out the best way for you on your terms. I tailor every clients’ treatment individually, with the client involved in the process. Recovery is not a one-size-fits-all formula. There are many paths to freedom from the chains of addiction. I will help you find the path that best suits you and will walk with you along that path.

I work with adults struggling with overwhelming feelings, perinatal/ postpartum issues, anxiety, stress, and adjusting to life changes. Your pregnancies, delivery, or postpartum may not go as you hoped for, and we be left all alone with trying to cope with what happened, while being a new parent. Whether you are looking to find your new self as a parent, or not putting as much pressure on yourself. My approach is client-driven and we will work together collaboratively. I am a licensed counselor, certified school counselor, and am certified in perinatal/postpartum mental health counseling through Postpartum Support International.
